| Spring Turkey Tracks is the fifth in the Train Tracks Series. By not incorporating a train I have removed the tension caused with the train bearing down on the wildlife, and thus allowing for a casual crossing of the tracks. | ||||||

"Lion Tracks" Fourth Release in the Train Tracks Series Image size: 17" x 22" |

This rocky ledge overlooks Penn's Creek
above the railroad tunnel and bridge just down stream from Coburn. The
railroad was built in 1879 for the logging industry, and Poe Valley was
the site of a major lumber mill. Depicted here is a Shay engine
delivering a train of log-filled cars to the mill. It was during this
era that the last lions were reportedly observed in the area. This rock
outcrop fills one's imagination as a recluse for a lion. Could this be
the last Nittany lion? |
